BikerDown is a FREE course, taught only by emergency service professionals, on how to keep an injured motorcyclist alive until the ambulance arrives. It was created by Jim Sanderson from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and is taught all over the UK by emergency service personnel who are dedicated to saving the lives of others and helping the public to know what to do, should they arrive at the scene of a motorcycle collision.

Dorset BikerDown courses are run by Dr Ian Mew, Intensive Care Consultant and DSAA Critical Care Doctor, and PC Chris Smith QPM, a Police Traffic Officer and Advanced Police Motorcycle Instructor with over 20 years of experience. There are few more qualified to teach people how to keep bikers alive in the event of a motorcycle accident!

The BikerDown course covers the following modules:

1. How to manage the scene of an accident
2. How to keep someone alive until the ambulance arrives
3. How to avoid being knocked off your bike in the future.
