Recently appointed as DSAA’s new Chair of Trustees, Tracey Killen reflects on her new role and highlights recent changes and additions to the board.

A message from Tracey Killen, Chair of Trustees

"This is my first message since becoming Chair of Trustees at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and it allows me to express my delight and honour in being given this opportunity.

Gillian Bryce, my predecessor, did a tremendous job for the charity and all of us will miss her. More recently, Richard Kennedy, who served as Deputy Chair and Chair of the Finance Committee, stepped down after nine years of exemplary service as a trustee.

We have welcomed three new trustees recently.  Andrew Sheridan, Michael Bradfield, and Heather Morecroft bring valuable experience and knowledge in areas such as finance, fundraising and clinical care. They have impressed us all with how quickly they are getting to grips with our operation and we are delighted that they have joined us.

In addition to the changes in trustees, this has been an important time as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary as the air ambulance for our two counties. Many events have been planned to both fundraise and express our sincere gratitude to the fantastic team of volunteers, supporters and organisations that help us stay airborne, out on the road, and able to support people when they need us the most.

We have a lot we want to achieve, and the trustees remain committed to supporting Charles and his team in delivering an ambitious agenda, while always putting patients, their families, and friends, at the heart of all our thinking. We are an organisation dedicated to helping people, often when they are at their most vulnerable, afraid, and in pain. We must never forget that. However, we are only here because of your overwhelming support, and that is a great privilege."
