Our Impact News How to stop bleeding: A session with Cheddar Youth Club Last month, Critical Care Practitioner Ben Channon and Supporter Engagement Officer Charlotte Humber visited Cheddar Youth Group to deliver a session on how to stop bleeding. Their aim? To empower the club with the knowledge and confidence to act quickly in an emergency. Stopping bleeding quickly saves lives Severe bleeding is life-threatening. If you, or someone around you is suffering from severe bleeding, it is essential to act quickly to stop it. If bleeding is not stopped, a person may lose a lot of blood, become unresponsive, and could even go into shock. Shock is a serious, life-threatening condition that happens when the body doesn’t have enough blood flowing to keep vital organs supplied with oxygen. The session The young people of Cheddar Youth group found the session extremely informative and left feeling more confident in knowing what to do in an emergency. Not only this, but Ben and Charlotte had a brilliant time meeting them! Supporter Engagement Officer Charlotte Humber said: “This special session was absolutely fantastic. It created a really supportive and engaging environment where the group could learn essential skills, ask questions freely, and grow in confidence. Opportunities like this are so valuable, not just for building knowledge, but for helping young people feel more prepared and empowered.” Life Support DSAA's Life Support programme is designed to raise awareness and equip people across the region with the skills and confidence to save lives.
