Our Impact News Vobster Quay Christmas Cracker Chill Swim raises £1,400 for DSAA Last weekend at Vobster Quay 40 brave swimmers took the plunge in festive head gear. Together, they braved the chilly waters and raised an amazing £1,400 for DSAA! Vobster Quay is a popular scuba diving and open water swimming venue in Somerset. This year, at the 2025 Christmas Cracker Chill Swim, swimmers took to the water in festive style, sporting Santa hats, reindeer antlers, and even Christmas pudding hood! Representing our charity at the event were volunteers Helen and Nic Jefferis, alongside Dasher, the charity mascot, who joined in the fun. Amy Stanton, Vobster Quay owner said: "We’re thrilled that so many brave open water swimmers joined us for what has become one of our favourite events of the year. Since our very first Christmas Cracker Chill Swim in 2022, we’ve raised thousands of pounds for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and we’re thrilled to have extended that total even further with another £1400 donated to this worthy charity. The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is a charity very close to our hearts and our Chill Swim is a great opportunity for us to show them just how much we love and value what they do. We’d like to extend a very special thank you to DSAA’s Supporter Engagement Officer, Charlotte, Volunteers, Helen & Nic and, of course, Dasher for making it such a great success!” Vobster Quay are long-term supporters of DSAA. Since 2011, they have raised over £14,000 through various fundraising initiatives, festive events, collection boxes, and this years Christmas Cracker Chill Swim! Charlotte Humber, Supporter Engagement Officer says: "A huge thank you to Vobster Quay for hosting such a brilliant event, and to every participant who braved the chilly waters. The funds raised will directly support DSAA, helping our crew deliver vital life-saving care when it matters most. We’re incredibly grateful for your support!" With no direct government funding, every mission is funded by the generosity of supporter such as Vobster Quay. Without such dedication, our service would not exist.
