Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is delighted to announce that Wookey Hole, one of Somerset’s most iconic attractions, will be joining their Air Ambulance Week 2025 celebrations in spellbinding style, with the help of a very special resident… the Witch of Wookey Hole!

To mark the start of Air Ambulance Week on Monday 8th September, the Witch of Wookey Hole will cast a spell to illuminate the caves our signature yellow and green colours, symbolising our life-saving work. Wookey Hole joins a line-up of renowned landmarks taking part in the campaign, including Bridport Clock Tower, Christchurch Priory, Corfe Castle, Glastonbury Tor, St James Church and Weymouth Pavilion, all of which will light up in support on the 8th.

Yet the magic of Wookey Hole doesn’t stop there. Throughout the entire week, the interior of the legendary caves will also glow in honour of DSAA. Visitors will be treated to a spectacular light display showcasing the natural wonder of the caves, as well as the opportunity to learn about the charity and their mission.

Chris Goodchild, General Manager at Wookey Hole says that:

“At Wookey Hole, we are proud to support Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Week by lighting up our Mill and caves in yellow and green, symbolising the life-saving work they do across our region.

With no government funding, their service relies entirely on public support, and we are honoured to help shine a light on their vital role in our community.”

Thank you

We would like to extend a special thanks to the team at Wookey Hole, for supporting us in their wonderful, whimsical way. Through their efforts, they not only recognise our work during Air Ambulance Week but also support the future of critical care in Dorset, Somerset and beyond.
