Get Involved Volunteer With Us Volunteers Roles Collection Box Servicer We are looking for volunteers to help look after our collection boxes. Full training will be provided as there are certain procedures that must be followed for this important role; it’s also a great opportunity for you to get out there and meet new people on a regular basis. Placing and changing collection pots within your local area Keeping an accurate record of collection pot locations, alongside the office admin team Returning the collection pots to the office to be counted You will be given full training and shown how to complete the relevant paperwork Reasonable expenses reimbursed Event Representative Events come in different shapes and sizes; many that we attend are in aid of the Charity, whilst others are where we are invited to have a presence. One thing is certain, we simply wouldn’t be able to attend the number we do, without our amazing team of volunteers. We use these opportunities to sell our official Charity merchandise, hand out literature, chat to members of the public, raise funds and awareness of the work we do in the local community. Being an event representative can also include transporting, setting up and dismantling Charity equipment. Many of the events take place at weekends, so if you like getting out and about, this could be right up your street! Attending a variety of events Manning our merchandise stand Collecting donations in collection buckets Acting as an information source for members of the public; answering questions and promoting our work Assisting with setting up and setting down the event Helping to recruit other members of the public to join our volunteer team Event Logistics Our Event Logistics Volunteer role involves transporting, setting up, and dismantling charity equipment at events, conducting equipment checks, and liaising with event organisers. The volunteer will also handle donations, issue receipts and complete paperwork according to charity procedures. If you're interested in this role then you must have these essential skills: physical fitness, a friendly and proactive demeanour, a full driving license and access to a suitable vehicle. Public Speaker Are you passionate about the work of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance? Do you have experience of public speaking or would you like to develop skills in this area? We are looking for volunteers to assist us in spreading the word about our Charity to local community groups, organisations, schools and businesses and are looking for confident individuals to help us. Full training will be provided as well as opportunities to observe talks before deciding if the role is for you.. Event Photographer Join Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as a volunteer event photographer and help capture memorable moments at our charity events. Whether you're a professional photographer or a hobbyist looking to build your portfolio, we’d love your support. You'll photograph participants, volunteers and the atmosphere at events like races and cycling challenges across Dorset and Somerset. The role involves attending events for 2-5 hours, taking action shots at the start and documenting post-event celebrations. We’re looking for photographers with good skills, access to a quality camera and the ability to upload and share photos. Transport access and reliability are essential. Collection Box Brander (Somerset and Dorset) We’re looking for volunteers in the Wellington and Wimborne areas, with good attention to detail, to help clean and re-brand our collection boxes. This vital role is suited for those looking for a way to support the Air Ambulance from home. If required, we can arrange to regularly drop off and collect the boxes for you. Duties include: Labelling new collection boxes Removing damaged/out of date labels Cleaning boxes thoroughly Re-branding with new labels Our long term volunteer Barbara, explains why she does this role: “I feel like this is a really important way to help Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, because people tend to donate to the clean, well looked after tins, because it shows a charity that is cared for.” Apply Now Occasional Event Volunteer We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Event Volunteers to support delivery of our events during the year. As a volunteer, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all participants. Responsibilities could include: Greet and assist guests upon arrival, providing directions and information as needed Support event setup and breakdown Assist with registration, check-in, and marshalling Provide general support to event staff Requirements: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions Reliability and punctuality Ability to stand or move around for extended periods (if required) No prior experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and willingness to help!
